General Eligibility Criteria
  • You must be at least 18-years of age and in most cases under 45-years of age at time of application, with the exception of holders of some temporary regional visas.
  • Your nominated occupation must be on the skilled occupation list Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
  • You must have post secondary qualifications, such as University, College or Trade Qualifications. In some cases substantial work experience may be acceptable. All qualifications and skills must be assessed by the relevant assessing authority approved by the Australian Government before lodging your visa application with the Department of Immigration.
  • You must have a sufficient level of English in accordance with your occupation and where you are going to live. It is highly likely that you will need to sit an English language test.
  • You must have been employed for at least 12 of the last 24 months in your skilled occupation or have recently completed at least 2-years of full time study in Australia within 6-months of lodging your application.
  • You must be of good character, which may require police checks, and be willing to undergo a health assessment as part of your application.
