This list applies to all General Skilled Migration (GSM) applicants from the date of commencement of the new Skilled Occupation List on 1 July 2010 including those who qualify for the transitional arrangements but choose to apply under the new SOL.

Applicants can only nominate an Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) occupation from 1 July 2010. The Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO) codes correlated to ANZSCO occupations provide Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)-endorsed policy guidance for the purposes of acceptable skills assessments. An applicant with a relevant valid skills assessment in an ASCO occupation should map it to the relevant ANZSCO occupation.
