GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR SKILLED KOREANS - Nursing In Australia

International Nurses and Midwives applying for migration to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category must have their educational qualifications and work experience assessed by the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council (ANMC). The ANMC is authorized by the Australian Immigration Department to conduct skilled assessments, known as Migration Skills Assessment. The ANMC is not responsible for registering nurses in Australia. Registration of nurses in Australia is the responsibility of the nursing board or council located in each state/territory, which are all members of the ANMC as shown in the diagram below:



There are 2 kinds of assessments:

1. Full Assessment - Registered nurses/midwives who currently hold registration outside Australia.
   Assessment Fee: AU$670.00 (1st July 2008 – 30th June 2009)
2. Modified Assessment - Registered nurses/midwives who hold current registration in Australia or New Zealand includes international graduates.
   Assessment Fee: AU$200.00 (1st July 2008 – 30th June 2009)
